Integrative Somatic Therapy

Therapists who practice somatic therapy believe in the mind-body connection. It is a body oriented approach that uses different techniques to help release negative emotions, trauma and tension held in the body to improve mental functioning. Integrative somatic therapy cultivates awareness of our own bodies and how we feel in them to further develop a relationship with ourselves to help us feel safe and comfortable while exploring memories, experiences, thoughts and emotions.

Integrative somatic therapy can be used to treat individuals who are holding stress in their bodies, grief, trauma symptoms, trust and intimacy issues, digestive disorders and other presenting problems. It is often used in combination with talk therapies for the most holistic approach to healing.
